New Sunday Services Starting 6/29/25
Effective Sunday, June 29th, SEAT will begin operating some routes regularly on Sundays. The routes that will be operating on Sundays are:

New London Smart Ride Cessation Post-Poned
Smart Ride Update. The original plan to suspend Smart Ride on July 1, has been delayed to August 1, 2025. The Board of Directors is reviewing options for continuing the service beyond August 1 at a Work Session on June 24, 2025. Smart Ride was funded with special one-time Federal COVID grants, and those grants have expired. SEAT continues to provide fixed route bus service and ADA paratransit service (for those individuals with a disability who qualify) throughout New London. Any pre-paid fares for Smart Ride are accepted on all SEAT buses, and staff is ready to assist customers in transitioning to that service. CTDOT Virtual Meeting for State Project #0414-0073 – SEAT Facility Expansion in Preston 4/28/25
Your input is important! We invite community members to learn about a proposed project impacting SEAT’s main facilities in Preston, CT, by reviewing the linked PDF and webpage. We also encourage your participation in a virtual public meeting on April 28th at 6:00pm. Excerpt from CTDOT: Project 414-73 Southeast Area Transit District Facility Expansion in Preston A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held on April 28, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation. There are no anticipated right-of-way impacts with the proposed project. Construction

Route Changes May 2024
Effective May 27, 2024, Route 2 will have a minor change with the 5 PM trip being replaced by a 7 PM trip on Weekends and Saturdays. Route 3 and Route 982 will have expanded hours on Weekends and Saturdays. For more information, please see the individual route pages.
2025-2028 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP)

New Route: Route 980
SEAT is now operating a new Route, Route 980. This route will serve four stops, Electric Boat, Crystal Lake Dr/Subbase, Job Lot Plaza, and Norwich Transportation Center. This operates in both directions twice per day.
